This (and racism. It’s also racism.) is why the GOP so desperately want to make it difficult for people to vote.

Munkustrap is the best big brother and baby Alonzo needs all the cuddles.
(and grown-up Munkustrap and Alonzo still need all the brother cuddles. someone should tell them that.)

For being a shadow and two dandelions, that is a surprisingly unnerving image.

everyone calling reddit social media is wrong
it’s a forum and message board platform not social media it doesn’t work like twitter or instagram or tiktok
and I think this is why everyone on tumblr is more accepting of their refugees and not twitters (besides the twitter refugees bringing old discourse back)
because tumblr is also not social media it’s a blogging platform. both tumblr and reddit are similar in that they both reflect the internet of old, when forums and blogs and personal websites were more popular, a time when you didn’t post about every little thing in your life, when you could be anonymous
and no matter how hard the ceos or the staff of either websites may try they can never fully transform into the next twitter or whatever without fundamentally changing what these websites are. which would be a death sentence
people aren’t coming to these websites for social media, they’re coming for the community, for the uniqueness, for the long discussions they can have without a character limit, for information, for anonymity. to browse the internet without feeling pressured into posting perfectly fake photos and stories about your life in a desperate attempt for likes and attention

To expand on the crumbling of the patriarchal edifice of the family.
If society agrees that children can know themselves, and have a right to self determination…. Everything else that Conservatives argue they have a right to exert over children crumbles. As just two examples….
ALL corporal punishment rightfully becomes recognised for the assault it is.
Failure to appropriately consider the wishes of children in medical care and provide information in an age appropriate way is recognised as child abuse and malpractice.
Children are entire people, they deserve all of the rights, privileges and protections afforded to adults.

art tips
- don’t call what you create “content”. regardless of what it is. that’s the devil talking. call it art, call it writing, call it music, call it analysis, call it editing, literally just call it what it is
- I was going to put other things but oh my god please just don’t call yourself a “content creator”. you are a person you are making art / writing / music / etc you are an artist an author a musician
- you are not an Image Generator For Clicks And Views. please. allow yourself to connect with your work by naming it properly and acknowledging yourself in kind
Gonna add on to this, if that’s ok, because I think a lot of people don’t know how to categorize their work:
- Shitposting? You’re a comedian, a satirist.
- Long posts about other people’s art? You’re a critic (positive), a scholar.
- Long posts exploring ideas, society, and the world around you? You’re an essayist, a philosopher.
- Can’t get enough of sharing information about X topic? You’re a scholar, an educator, a columnist.
- Just love collecting and sharing other people’s stuff on your blog? Archivist, curator, collector.
- Just not sure where you fit? Babe, you’re a blogger.
You don’t have to be a professional (ie get paid) to be any of these things. You can claim the title without making any claims to the quality of your work. It’s ok.
